Isfahan is a historical city, located about 340km south of Tehran. It is the second most important city after Tehran, and it also was once one of the largest cities in the world. Isfahan was the capital of Persia about 400 years ago.
Isfahan is well known for its beautiful architecture and arts from its world famous Persian Rug to handicrafts and other unique products. Many tourists that visit Isfahan each year called it the most beautiful city in Iran. It has many flower gardens, miles of beautiful parks along the “Zayandeh Roud River”, many historical places with wonderful architecture that attracts hundreds of visitors. Isfahan has so much to offer, that is why it is called “Nesfe Jahan” (meaning “half of the world”).
